University-Based Loan Repayment Programs
Who Qualifies: Graduates of an Iowa Regent University or private college/university academic program that prepares the individual for a license to practice as an athletic trainer, occupational therapist, physician, podiatrist, physical therapist or physician assistant.
What you get: This program provides an award to reduce student debt in exchange for four years of full-time service in an eligible service commitment area.
How to apply: Submit an application through Iowa College Aid.
Funding Source: Iowa College Aid, Local Communities.
Who Qualifies: Medical Students of Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine or the University of Iowa College of Medicine who meet certain requirements.
What you get: This program provides loan repayment of Federal Subsidized Stafford, Unsubsidized Stafford, Graduate PLUS and Perkins Loans in exchange for a minimum, five-year commitment in an eligible service commitment area following completion of residency.
